THE CYCLICAL ROOM (for Het Klokkenhuis)
Het Klokkenhuis is an interactive exhibition around the theme of Time and Generations, aimed at children between the ages of 6-12. De Vrijstaat invited 4 artists to each create their own room, of which I was one. I have designed a room around the idea of cyclical time, both in nature and in our every day lives. One part focuses on the sun rising and setting, the seasons passing, using the big windows present in the room. The other part are reconstructions of rooms in my house that I pass through every morning and every evening. To cook, brush my teeth, sleep in. These reconstructions are combinations of photographs and real elements, as well as diary fragments and audio pieces.
This interactive expo can be visited at De Vrijstaat from 15th of February till 29th of November ’26.
